Maruti Suzuki India, the country’s largest carmaker, has opened applications for its mobility start-up program. Referred to as Cohort 8 of the Mobility and Automobile Innovation Lab (MAIL), the program will encompass start-ups offering solutions in digital technology, mobility and automobile space.
Since the program is backed by the Maruti Suzuki Innovation Fund, it provides an opportunity for emerging start-ups to secure investment and funding as well.
Known for offering extensive mentorship, MAIL will help start-ups at various levels through various initiatives. Additionally, the team will also validate the solutions of these start-ups, help them build their products from scratch all the way to the pilot stage and extends its support in the go-to-market strategy.
In the earlier cohorts, shortlisted start-ups got an opportunity to work with Maruti Suzuki, where they could turn their innovative ideas into practical solutions and showcase their entrepreneurial abilities. However, only a handful of select start-ups got the chance to undertake a paid proof-of-concept (PoC) with the automobile company.
In Cohort 6, Maruti Suzuki announced five winners—mSense, automaxis, Keploy, AngelTech Logistics and AutoWiz. Of these, the first three got a chance at a paid PoC with the company.
