Unlisted Assets has launched an end-to-end tech-enabled liquidity platform for secondary transactions of unlisted shares for retail users. The platform aims to democratise unlisted investments through tech integration and provide safe and secure transactions through Escrow bank mechanisms.
Today, retail investors in the unlisted market are associated with the risk of liquidity. To overcome this issue, this platform provides liquidity to unlisted shareholders as investors enter the unlisted market with the intention of selling their shares when the initial public offering (IPO) occurs, said the company.
It enables monetisation opportunities for all unlisted stakeholders be it employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) holders, angel investors, venture capitalists/private equity firms, alternative investments funds (AIFs), or mutual funds (MFs), it added.
The platform gives access to financial data and business updates of Pre-IPO companies. It also provides services related to the valuation of holdings in unlisted shares through an expert team of valuers to help them with customised valuation reports.
The platform will reportedly launch a ‘negotiation feature’ which will facilitate an anonymous buyer-seller negotiation process for better price discovery.
The transaction on the platform is backed by bank-supported Escrow and is validated by a securities and exchange board of India (SEBI) registered trustee.
“Soon, we will also launch a business-to-business (B2B) platform for institutional Investors (private equity and venture capital funds, brokering arms of banks, large wealth outfits, and family offices), companies, and intermediaries for buying and selling unlisted shares in bulk trades anonymously deal matching between buyers and sellers,” said Manish Khanna, founder, Unilisted Assets.
Founded in 2020, Unlisted Assest is a technology-backed platform providing a marketplace for buying and selling unlisted shares through an automated process of share transfer.
