Tata Neu, the super app owned by Tata Group, has launched NeuSkills, a vertical that will offer reskilling courses. NeuSkills will offer two boot camp-based courses in data analytics and front-end developers. The courses will be priced at Rs 60,000 each, excluding tax and the students may get internship opportunities at Tata Companies, among others.
Additionally, the students could potentially get a job at the Tata Group. The larger Tata Group already has a business-to-business (B2B) play in edtech through its digital classroom solutions provider, Tata ClassEdge.
Tata Neu has been actively promoting the super app during the ongoing Indian Premier League and has recently revamped the app's landing page. The NeuSkills will compete with bigger rivals such as Scaler, Byju's-owned Great Learning, UpGrad, Masai School, and Newton School.
The National Leader of Education and Skill Development Practice at KPMG India, Narayanan Ramaswamy, said in a media report that Tatas' entry into the reskilling market is really good for the job market because there is a need for a lot of reskilling and upskilling. The success of NeuSkills will depend on whether they are a reluctant player or a serious one.
