The teachers claimed that they left Physics Wallah because its atmosphere was no longer conducive to learning or teaching
A viral video circulating on social media features three former teachers of edtech start-up Physics Wallah crying over false allegations of bribery and internal politics. Tarun Kumar, Manish Dubey and Sarvesh Dixit have resigned from Physics Wallah over their differences with founder Alakh Pandey, and now have their own YouTube channel called 'Sankalp.'
In the video, the teachers claimed that allegations of receiving a bribe of Rs 5 crore were baseless and that they left Physics Wallah because its atmosphere was no longer conducive to learning or teaching.
According to the three professors, Physics Wallah’s chemistry teacher Pankaj Sijairya falsely accused them of taking bribes from rival platform Adda247 to quit Physics Wallah. The teachers claimed that Physics Wallah's focus on providing good, affordable education shifted after it became bigger, leading them to feel misaligned with the organisation's vision. They also claimed that Physics Wallah had been trying to strike their YouTube channel despite completing the course before leaving the platform.
However, some netizens have criticized the former teachers for their public outbursts and claimed that it was a staged act for publicity. Physics Wallah was started by Alakh Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari in 2016. The start-up prepares students for competitive engineering and medical entrance examinations and reportedly created its mobile application and website in 2020.
