Nischal’s Smart Learning Solutions has been granted a utility patent for the World’s first portable micro-scale labs for Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology by the Government of India under the patent number 414244.
Founded in 2010 by Nischal Narayanam, the company is revolutionising education through kinaesthetic and immersive technology-based learning solutions.
The company has unveiled a game-changing innovation designed to reshape the education landscape, after investing 5 million hours of R&D, it added in a press release.
These labs aim to revolutionise conventional teaching methodologies by introducing a hands-on experimental learning approach for students from grades 1-10. The labs house over 5,000 components and enable more than 2,500 experiments. They are aligned with Indian and International Boards and address the critical issue of insufficient lab facilities in over 90 per cent of Indian schools due to space, financial and operational constraints.
Its patented portable labs bring the entire laboratory experience directly to the classroom, eliminating logistical challenges and reducing operational hassles associated with traditional labs. Experiments conducted are carefully designed to link theoretical knowledge with practical, real-life scenarios, enhancing students’ conceptual understanding.
The tools are eco-friendly, child-friendly, durable, made of food-grade plastic, have micro-scale glassware for safety purposes, and are equipped with their heat, power, and light sources.
The labs help schools overcome space constraints as each lab requires only 2 sq. ft of area and costs one-fifth of the cost of traditional labs, making them cost-effective and operationally convenient. The labs also include grade-wise lab manuals and video guides to make them user-friendly.
The edtech is also involved as an academic partner, offering teacher training programs and providing complete guidance on what to teach and how to teach with lesson plans, academic calendars, SOPs, and more.
Speaking on the success of labs, the founder of nischals, Nischal Narayanam said, "We believe that education should not be confined to textbooks and traditional methods. With our patented portable micro-scale labs, we are transforming the educational landscape, making hands-on learning accessible to every student. We want to simplify the education system and make learning fun."
The company has established its labs in over 5,000 schools countrywide amongst which 4,000 schools are government-led and the remaining 1,000 are private schools impacting 1 million+ students and more than 20,000 teachers.
