Cleartrip, a Mumbai-based start-up announced the launch of a host of consumer-centric features–Special fares, PayLater, Medi Cancel Refund and International Travel Insurance, on its platform. The company claims that through these features, travel will be easier and accessible to a large part of people.
According to a company statement, ‘Special fares’ is designed to offer discounted airfares for students, defence personnel and senior citizens. Students can get benefits like carrying an additional 10kgs of baggage. Through PayLater, travellers can book tickets with credits (pay later vendors). Medi-Cancel Refund will allow customers to avail of up to Rs3500 against airline cancellation charges in case of medical emergencies. International Travel Insurance will provide financial assistance to customers in case of medical expenses, loss of checked-in baggage, trip delays or cancellations or missed flight connections.
Speaking about the additional features, Prahlad Krishnamurti, the chief business officer (CFO) of Cleartrip, said, “ We pay close attention to the evolving needs of our customers and understand that three main factors shape their travelling decisions - flexibility, affordability, and safety. In line with this, we have rolled out multiple offerings that address these determinants and exceed a user’s expectations. We are confident that these will help make seamless travel a reality for a larger user base and transform it into a stress-free experience.”
Recently, the company announced its partnership with Adani One–an Adani Group initiative towards airport digitisation. Through this partnership, the travel aggregator is expected to offer an integrated digital platform for domestic and international flight bookings.
Talking about the development, Ayappan R, the chief executive officer of Cleartrip, said, “By onboarding ourselves on the Adani One platform, we will make travel accessible to a larger demographic.”
